MISSION: Our mission is to provide a space that empowers women and children to access a trusted community going beyond their current state of mental or physical abuse, a physical and emotional shelter of safety, a trusted circle woven with outreach and education resources to sustain life beyond their current circumstances.
The Position: This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about providing support to women and children victims of domestic violence. What we’re looking for:
– Previous board experience, preferred but not mandatory
– Fundraising acumen
– Connections in the corporate sector
– Marketing and Communications experience
– Finance or law experience

EXPECTATIONS OF BOARD AS A WHOLE:
As the highest leadership body of TTC and to satisfy fiduciary duties, the board is responsible for:
– Determining and updating the mission of TTC
– Strategic and organizational planning
– Ensuring strong fiduciary oversight and financial management
– Fundraising to support sustainability of organization
– Approving and monitoring TTC’s programs and services
– Promoting TTC’s mission and vision and enhancing public image
– Assessing performance of board as the governing body and making changes as necessary
EXPECTATIONS OF INDIVIDUAL BOARD MEMBERS:
– Intimate knowledge of TTC’s Mission, Programs and Policies
– Attend all board meetings, missing no more than one quarterly meeting per year
– Serve as an active advocate and ambassador for TTC and fully engage in identifying and securing financial resources and partnerships necessary for TTC to advance its mission
– Give a meaningful personal donation and identify personal connections that can support TTC financially or in-kind for a minimum Give/Get of $1,000 each year
– This is a working board with a monthly time commitment of between 5-10 hours/month
